Getting Started
Account setup, registration, and your first steps on Eduviai.
What is Eduviai and how does it work?
Eduviai is an AI-powered platform that matches international students with the right UK schools — from pre-prep (age 4) all the way to postgraduate programmes. You create a profile, tell us about your child's academic background and preferences, and our matching engine recommends the best-fit schools based on real admissions data. Unlike traditional agencies, we give you direct access to schools with no middlemen.
Is Eduviai free to use?
Yes! Our Starter Plan is completely free and gives you access to our UK school database, a step-by-step application roadmap, and downloadable CV and personal statement templates. For more advanced features like 1-on-1 consultations, unlimited essay polishing, and interview coaching, we offer Basic, Pro, and Custom plans. See our pricing page for details.
How do I create an account?
Click Login / Register in the top right corner. You can sign up with your email address. Once registered, you'll complete a short profile quiz about your child's age, academic background, preferred location, and budget — this takes about 5 minutes and powers our AI matching.
What age groups does Eduviai support?
We support five levels of UK education: Pre-Prep & Prep (ages 4–13, including boarding from age 7), Senior School (ages 13–16, GCSEs), Sixth Form (ages 16–18, A-Levels/IB), Undergraduate (18+), and Postgraduate (Master's, MBA, PhD). Our AI adapts the matching criteria, questionnaire, and school database for each level.
Can parents and students both use the platform?
Absolutely. For younger students (pre-prep through senior school), parents typically manage the account and complete the profile. The platform captures both parent priorities (safety, pastoral care, budget) and student preferences (sports, activities, location) to produce balanced recommendations. Older students can manage their own accounts independently.
Which languages does Eduviai support?
The platform is available in English and Mandarin Chinese. Our support team can assist you in both languages via email, live chat, WeChat, and WhatsApp.
AI Matching
How the matching engine works, improving your results, and understanding scores.
How does the AI matching engine work?
Our matching engine analyses your child's profile — academic performance, extracurricular interests, preferred location, budget, and personal preferences — and compares it against our database of 200+ UK schools. It scores each school across multiple dimensions (academic fit, activities, pastoral care, cost, location) and produces a ranked list with detailed explanations of why each school is a strong match.
What does the matching score (e.g. 94%) mean?
The match score reflects how well a school aligns with your child's specific profile and your family's priorities. A 94% match means the school scores highly across nearly all the dimensions that matter to you. The score breaks down into sub-scores (Academic Fit, Activities Fit, Pastoral Care, etc.) so you can see exactly where a school excels and where it may fall short.
Can I improve my matching results?
Yes — the more detailed your profile, the better the results. Make sure you've filled in all fields, including extracurricular activities, language abilities, and specific preferences like boarding type or campus setting. You can update your profile at any time and the AI will regenerate your matches instantly.
Does Eduviai favour certain schools over others?
No. Our matching is entirely objective and data-driven. Schools cannot pay to appear higher in your results. The rankings are based purely on how well each school fits your child's profile. This is one of our core principles — and what sets us apart from traditional agencies that may have financial relationships with certain institutions.
How many schools will I be matched with?
The AI generates a ranked list of your top 5–10 best matches, depending on your plan. The free Starter Plan shows your top 3 matches with brief explanations. Paid plans provide detailed reports with full scoring breakdowns, school comparisons, and personalised advisor recommendations.
Applications
Deadlines, documents, entrance exams, and application tracking.
When should I start the application process?
It depends on the level. For UK boarding prep schools, many families begin 12–18 months before the entry date. For senior school entry at 13+ (Year 9), registration often opens 2–3 years in advance at competitive schools. For sixth form, applications typically open in September for entry the following September. University applications through UCAS open in May with deadlines in January (October for Oxbridge). We recommend starting your research on Eduviai as early as possible.
What documents do I need to apply?
Requirements vary by school and level, but typically include: recent school reports/transcripts, a passport copy, a personal statement or reference letter, and English language test results (if applicable). For younger students, schools may request examples of work or teacher references. Your Eduviai dashboard provides a personalised checklist for each school you apply to.
What entrance exams will my child need to take?
Common UK entrance assessments include the ISEB Common Pre-Test (for 11+ and 13+ entry), Common Entrance (for 13+ entry to senior schools), 7+ and 8+ assessments (for prep school entry), and UKiset (used by many schools for international applicants). For universities, you may need IELTS, UCAS entry requirements, and subject-specific tests (e.g. MAT, BMAT, LNAT). Each school listing on Eduviai specifies exactly which assessments are required.
Can I apply to multiple schools through Eduviai?
Yes. You can shortlist multiple schools from your AI matching results and track all applications from a single dashboard. The platform shows the status of each application in real time — from submitted, to interview scheduled, to offer received.
Will Eduviai help with personal statements and essays?
Yes — our Basic plan includes a professional personal statement review, and our Pro plan offers unlimited essay polishing with senior UK consultants. We also provide downloadable templates and a step-by-step writing guide on the free plan.
Does Eduviai offer interview coaching?
Interview coaching is included in our Pro plan. Our UK-based consultants conduct mock interviews tailored to the specific school and level your child is applying for, with feedback on presentation, content, and confidence. This is especially valuable for competitive schools that use interviews as a key part of their selection process.
How do school fees work? Does Eduviai charge on top?
Eduviai charges only for its platform services (see our pricing plans). We never take commission from schools and never add hidden fees to tuition costs. School fees are paid directly to the school — the amount you see on our platform is the same amount the school publishes. This transparency is a core part of our promise.
Visas & Arrival
Student visas, CAS letters, guardianship, and settling into the UK.
What visa do I need to study in the UK?
Most international students need a Student Visa (formerly Tier 4). Children under 18 attending an independent school need a Child Student Visa. Your school will issue a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) letter which is required for the visa application. Our Pro plan includes a full Visa & CAS support package to guide you through the process.
Does my child need a UK guardian?
Yes — all international students under 18 studying at a UK boarding school must have a UK-based educational guardian. The guardian is responsible for your child during half-term breaks and any emergencies when you cannot be present. Eduviai can connect you with vetted guardian services as part of our support network.
What is the CAS letter and when will I receive it?
The CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) is an electronic reference number issued by your school once you've accepted their offer and met all conditions. You need it to apply for your student visa. Schools typically issue the CAS 3–6 months before the course start date. You can track CAS status directly on your Eduviai dashboard.
How much money do I need to show for the visa application?
You need to demonstrate you can cover tuition fees for the first year plus living costs. For London, the Home Office requires evidence of £1,334/month for living expenses; outside London, it's £1,023/month (for up to 9 months). These figures are updated periodically — our platform always reflects the latest requirements.
Does Eduviai help with pre-departure preparation?
Our Pro and Custom plans include pre-departure support: packing guides, UK banking setup advice, SIM card and transport recommendations, and an introduction to your school's international student community. Our Custom plan also offers a dedicated concierge service for the first week in the UK.

The Starter Plan gives you access to our UK school database, a step-by-step application roadmap, downloadable CV and personal statement templates, and regular updates on UK visa policies. You'll also receive your top 3 AI matches with brief explanations. It's a great way to explore what Eduviai offers before committing to a paid plan.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. When upgrading, you'll only pay the difference for the remaining period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Is there a refund policy?
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days, contact our support team for a full refund — no questions asked.
Do you offer discounts for multiple children?
Yes — families with multiple children receive a 20% discount on the second child's plan and 30% on any additional children. Contact our team to set up a family account.
Schools & Levels
Boarding schools, sixth forms, universities, and choosing the right level for your child.
What types of UK schools are on Eduviai?
Our database includes independent (private) schools across England, Scotland, and Wales — from pre-prep and prep schools accepting children from age 4, through to top boarding schools, day schools, sixth form colleges, and Russell Group universities. We focus on schools with a strong track record of supporting international students.
What is the difference between GCSE, A-Level, and IB?
GCSEs are the standard qualifications taken at age 14–16 (Years 10–11). A-Levels are the traditional UK university preparation qualification taken at 16–18 — students typically study 3–4 subjects in depth. The IB (International Baccalaureate) is a broader programme covering 6 subjects plus a core, popular with international students. Both A-Levels and IB are accepted by all UK universities. Our Expert Guide explains each pathway in detail.
Can my child start boarding school at age 7?
Yes — several UK prep schools offer boarding from age 7 (Year 3). Some offer flexi-boarding (a few nights per week) as a gentle introduction. Our AI matching takes boarding age preferences into account and will only recommend schools that accept boarders at your child's age. Pastoral care and boarding quality are weighted heavily in the matching score for younger students.
What are the key UK school entry points?
The main entry points are: Age 4 (Reception — pre-prep), Age 7 (Year 3 — prep school, often with 7+ assessment), Age 11 (Year 7 — senior school, 11+ exam), Age 13 (Year 9 — main boarding entry, 13+ / Common Entrance), and Age 16 (Year 12 — Sixth Form, A-Levels or IB). Each entry point has its own application timeline and requirements.
